People can no longer dispute that climate change is happening. The results in just a short period of time will be catastrophic. Whole states and countries will disappear beneath rising ocean water, displacing millions of people. Droughts the likes we have never seen before, hurricanes, typhoons and tornadoes will destroy our infrastructure. These results are unacceptable, but we can alleviate them by drastically changing our dependence on non-renewable energy sources, such as coal and oil. The United States is the second largest producer of greenhouse gas emissions, second only to China.
Instead of enacting carbon taxes and incentives to avert this armageddon, the President and the U.S. Congress are taking the destructive side of the polluters, and actually favor the production of more gas and oil, thanks to the hundreds of millions of dollars they take in industry lobby money. This is your president, your Congressman, and your Senator, and they should answer to you, not the energy industry.
